Forget the Y2K bug, the real threat of the millennium is upon us. He is a force that compels, captivates, and inspires. He is a man charged with urgency. He bares a soul possessed by feelings of rage, torment and triumph.

In a music industry that often specializes in manufactured stars-- neatly wrapped packages that look the right way and do and say all the right things--it is a rare event to witness the emergence of a true artist. DMX, rap's ruffest ryder, is of this rare breed of artists. He has held the hip hop world spellbound with his raw, unbridled energy, unyielding passion and lyrics of fury since his explosive arrival in 1998-the year that was unquestionably the year of the dog. After stand-out performances on tracks like LL Cool J's "4.3.2.1", the Lox's "Money, Power, Respect", and Mase's "24 Hours to Live", DMX got the world's attention with his own, bonafied street anthem "Get At Me Dog." In May, he released his groundbreaking first effort It's Dark and Hell is Hot- which also featured the intoxicating, gritty joints "Stop Being Greedy" and "Ruff Ryder's Anthem"-debuted at number one and quickly went multi-platinum.

There he set to work on his latest offering, And Then Was X. In true DMX style, And Then There Was X serves up yet another feast of driving beats, ferocious rhyme flows and tales from the dark side. "I feel good." DMX says about his new album, "I'm comin' with a lot of joints. It's the same type of X shit. I mean, I always touch on different subjects, tell different stories, but as far as the feel of the album, it's the same shit. Why switch up? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
"What lends to the familiarity to the album is the electric, hit-making chemistry of DMX and his longtime collaborator and producer, Swizz Beats, who served as executive producer on the project and worked on the blazin' tracks, TK. D explains his bond with Swizz by saying, "It's love, it's real. You know, we're like family. I knew this nigga before he was thinkin' about beats-when he was stealin' radios."

The Hard Knock Life Concert experiance some trouble when it stopped in Cleveland the other day cuz of the snow. There van was stuck in a snow storm and they where almost late for there own show. Everything went well doe. There will be a special performance from the Hard Knock Life Concert on MTV Friday at 4:30. Following that on MTV News 1515 they will be intervieing Jay-Z and others about the Hard Knock Life Concert. If you haven't checked out the concert yet make sure you check it out. I have heard that it will be a tight concert with some of the best rappers on stage. It will come o my home town B-MORE (Baltimore) March 26, 1999.

Everyone has heard about the Hard Knock Life tour that will hit us hard in the spring with artists such as Method Man, Dmx, Jay-Z and Redman. But did you hear about the 95.5 Washington Winter Jam 99 concert that will hit there real soon with artist such as Dmx, Method Man and Jay-Z. I'll keep ya' posted as I get more info. Also Jay-Z is nit happy about the fact that he was nominated for three grammies and his partner Dmx was nominated for none. He is saying that they both have had successful years so Dmx need to get his props.

There is a few news on Dmx. First of all Dmx was on Hot 97 before saying that he was not dissing Mary J Blige like I said before but there is a new Unrelease CD out with a bunch of exclusive stuff on this CD from Dmx. There is supposely a song on there about Mary J.
Well you heard about the Hard Knock Life Tour that supposed to go in affect by spring. The artists that are suppose to be on this tour are Dmx, Jay-Z, Method Man and Redman. This tour is going to be off the hook.
Well Dmx album went gold in one week selling over 675,000 copies which landed him in the number one spot untill N'sync and Britteny Spears knocked him down in the number three spot.

Happy New Year! There is alot of new Dmx news to be released. Frist to clear up all rumors. Dmx was not dissing Mary J. Blige on a freestyle. He cleared that rumor up when he was on Hot 97 radio station in New York. He said he had a fun time working with her and would like to work with her again.
Dmx will be appearing on TLC new album entitled Fan Mail which should be due out in the summer time.
And Dmx is one of the artist who will be on The Hard Knock Life Tour with Method Man and Jay-Z. More people will be added to this tour.
Also you have been always hearing bout the Ruff Ryders this and the Ruff Ryders that. Will Ruff Ryders Records Presents...Drag-On Ryder Or Die which will be due out something this year. Look out for that.
More rumors are going around saying that Def Jam Records was brought by another Record Company. The still going to produce albums but no word yet on how. Many people say that Dmx will be opening up a Recorded Company called Ruff Ryders Entertainment.

DMX has also re entered the top 20 due to How It’s Going Down (with Faith Evans) and Ruff Ryders Anthem making heavy rotation on radio and video outlets. No singles are being planned for released for either artists. Also, Marilyn Manson, known for his highly irreverent stage shows and huge cult-like following, plans on hooking up with DMX for a remix on his next single, "I Don"t Like The Drugs (But The Drugs Like Me), from his new album "Mechanical Animals." Also, according to local reports, a Marilyn Manson show set for next month in Charlotte, North Carolina will go on as planned despite the protest of local parents. The "Charlotte Observer" reported on Thursday that the Coliseum Authority, which governs over the venue that will host the November 10 concert, has decided not to block the show but said that it will now consider a rating systems for future concerts based on public reaction to the Manson show. The Authority had reportedly been presented with a petition bearing the signatures of hundreds of Charlotte residents who had hoped to stop the show.

Also if ya' haven't heard yet Manson will apparently celebrate the decision by hooking up with rapper DMX. Marylin Mason Offical Site reports that Manson is working with DMX on a remix, but Manson's record label, Interscope Records, could not elaborate on the report.

Tickets for Powerhouse, an annual concert thrown by the Philadelphia radio station Power 99 FM (WUXL) went on sale Saturday, September 19th at 9am. The concert, to be held on October 30th at the Corestate’s Center, will so far feature DMX, Monica, Jay Z, NEXT, Noreaga, Cam’ron, Fat Joe, Mya, Nicole, Aaron Hall, Adina Howard and Jagged Edge with more to be announced as the date nears. Sources close to FTS also say that Big Pun and Charli Baltimore plan on rolling through. There are a couple of problems doe. Problem #1, the floor seats were all gone by the time people got through on Ticketmaster to get a set of tickets at 10:30am. Problem #2 is, Philly 103.9 is also advertising the same concert... but they are saying the name is Our House. Same date, same venue.
In August I told ya' that DMX got married on August 8, 1998..but I wasn't sure. It is said now that DMX got married to his baby mother on August 9, 1998. So if you hear anything let me know

NEW YORK -- DNA has exonerated DMX... Rape and sodomy charges filed by a stripper against rapper DMX were dismissed yesterday by prosecutors. "I never met the girl," DMX, a/k/a Earl Simmons, said after he emerged from Bronx Criminal Court, where the charges were dropped when prosecutors revealed that a DNA test of Simmons' blood did not match semen found on the woman. Simmons, 27, with an album on the pop harts, was arrested in June after the woman claimed she met him at the club Harlem Nights and went to what she thought was a party at a Bronx apartment, only to be attacked. Criminal Court Judge Eduardo Padro dismissed rape, sodomy, sexual abuse and unlawful imprisonment charges against Simmons, who lives in Mount Vernon. The dismissal came after prosecutors from the office of Bronx District Attorney Robert T. Johnson announced in court that they could not prove charges beyond a reasonable doubt. Simmons' album "It's Dark And Hell Is Hot" debuted at the top of the Billboard pop charts at the start of the summer. This fall, Simmons is set to debut in his first movie role, playing a Queens-based hustler in "Belly." His lawyer, Matt Middleton, said it is hard to erase the stain left by the arrest of Simmons even after the charges were dismissed. "He was immediately negatively portrayed and his lyrics were critically analyzed," Middleton said. "He didn't have a chance." Still, the lawyer added, the negative publicity has not seemed to adversely affect ticket sales for his concerts or his music. Middleton said he and his client were notified by the rosecutor's office by telephone on Tuesday that the DNA in his blood sample did not match the semen found on the alleged victim. Lyor Cohen, chief executive officer of Def Jam Recording Group, said radio stations and video stores had refused to display Simmons' music rominently after the charges were filed. Cohen said Simmons' album had sold about 1.5 million copies and was projected to reach between 3 million and 5 million in sales, further boosting the career of a man compared to the late rapper Tupac Shakur."He still is an outlaw, the most renegade artist right now in the music business," Cohen said.

DMX spent less than 18 minutes in a Bronx courtroom Monday morning when he was given an adjournment until August 4 on last month's charge of raping and sodomizing an exotic dancer. His court date had to be reset because the rapper, who denies the charges, has been unable to give a blood sample so that his DNA can be tested. Around the time of his August 4 trial date, DMX will resume shooting his movie debut in the Hype Williams-directed film "Belly." Williams has worked with his share of hip-hop faces, including Busta Rhymes, Mase, and the Notorious B.I.G., but he recently explained to MTV News why DMX was the rapper he chose for the lead in "Belly." "I had heard his vocals and lyrics for many, many years," Williams said, "and I knew he was a tremendous talent -- I just didn't know how big of a talent and I didn't know how big of an actor he would be. [1 M Quicktime] In actuality, in my opinion, he's a better actor than a rapper, and people are really going to get a real strong sense of that come November 4." As Williams hyped, "Belly" is set to arrive on screens in November.

How does the Internet figure into game development?
Typically if you have wanted to play a particular game then you have had to go to a software store and purchase a box which contains CD-ROM's or floppy disks. Games are packaged this way because the data which makes up most games takes up so much space and because physical stores have been the only place to showcase them. This data can take the form of graphics, sounds, character files, help, and of course the game engine itself. Now with the gain in popularity of the Internet, gamers don't have to get a game from a physical store, and in some cases they don't even have to install a game on their own computer. One of the contributions of the Internet to gaming has been games which exist entirely online. Project BOB is an example of this kind of game. It's graphics and code exist on the web and are expressed through a web browser. This means that updates are easier to distribute to fans of a game who visit a central storage for the game each time they log on to play it.

BOB is programmed entirely in HTML/JavaScript and has 36 different screens and 3 different enemies, 2 of which move. The image at the left shows keys and doors, which are dynamic---once you get them, they're gone (until the next game!). Only 32 images are used to create BOB (six images are for BOB himself). The data that draws BOB has over 3:1 compression (but is on the same page). BOB works on all computer platforms using a proper browser (it even works on a Unix workstation -- there are special automatic adjustments for speed on HP workstations). BOB does not rely on any Applets or CGI Script pushing. The page of BOB is about 25kb, and the images for BOB are less than 7kb (most average pages have over 30kb).
